  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Rep me, and I will return the reps.

Michael ....you have great pictures.....how did you get that close..

I got to the stage area 4 hours before the parade began and I have a 28-300 mm (35-450 mm effective) lens that takes awesome pictures! It was well worth the wait.

it is a shame you couldn't have gotten some of them published.

I was amazed how well the champagne showed up in the picture of Max Talbot spraying it. I was a good 50 feet away from the stage and yet it showed up crystal clear!

That was an experience. I was sad I was not able to make it to the Steelers parade, but the Pens parade was better. The Pens all wore their jerseys, which makes it alot easier for the fans to tell who is who. The Steelers did not wear jerseys, just grey Super Bowl champion sweatshirts. I can tell most of the Steelers without their helmets on, but there are some who I can't pick out. I am a die hard Steelers fan so I am sure the average fan didn't have a clue who half the team was. That is especially the case without the playoff beards, which it looks like the whole Penguins team shaved off right after they won the cup!
