Renewing my mind

In order to be renewed in our minds we must stay away from most TV and all evil communication, pray for all good things with thanksgiving, stay in scripture and meditate in it. Humble ourselves and walk in love, faith, hope and live in holiness and righteousness the best we can. We must not forsake or misuse Gods grace. We reap what we sow (Ro 6:21, Ga 6:7-9) and we become servants to whatever we yield our hearts, mind, souls and strength to. We must endure hardship and wait on the Lord.

Mr 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mr 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Php 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Php 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Php 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Ps 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Ps 37:34 Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

Pr 20:22 Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.

Ro 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Ro 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Ro 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Ro 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Ro 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Ro 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Ro 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Ro 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Ro 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
Ro 6:21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
Ro 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ro 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Ro 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Ro 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Ro 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Ro 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Ro 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Ro 8:10 ¶ And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Ro 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Ro 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Ro 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Ro 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God

Ga 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Ga 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Ga 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

How do I begin to renew my mind? How do I apply that verse to my life?
Hi, this is something we all struggle with every day. First pray and ask God to help you renew your mind. Next, read the Bible and understand just who you are now in Christ. Also, it is known that if you are thinking about one thing (say, something bad or sinful), if you just begin to think about something else that is good, you will gravitate toward that and away from the other thought.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Phillipians 4:8

do not dwell on the things of this world but on the things of God. have no part with evil thoughts and feelings, only dwell on that which is from God. the good things, peace and kindness ectect. no judging others, that alone will change your mind to a great degree. praying much to God in desire to speak with him also will renew your mind. pray very much for God to renew your mind and do what little you can to go along that path. whatever you feel God is leading you to do to renew your mind... do that. reject evil doubting, malice, anger, envying, vain sorrow, hopelessness. cling to the fruit of the Holy Spirit and God will increase and multiply them inside yourself. God can make your mind simple and blissful like an innocent child while at the same time infusing you with spiritual wisdom that you don't have to work for. just receive from God in joy and thanksgiving as you seek and reach for God. there is much baggage we get over the years of living in the darkness of this world. all we need to do is let God save us from the darkness and then all we shall have is the good of this world and God himself who gives the good. the more God supernaturally renews your mind the more you shall feel like you were translated into heaven. there will still be hard times but they are all so that God may make you a firmly established pillar.

desire and hunger for God in your heart. pray for him to give you a taste of his goodness that you may be captured all the more by his loves. pray to the Lord to reason with you, that he transform you into the one he sees you as. do not leave off on praying to God to bless you with His goodness, with his Holy Spirit, keep asking very much until he overwhelms you. as much as you can, be innocent for God, don't desire rewards or fear punishments, desire God alone and he will give himself to you in a way that the world can not understand. don't be satisfied, keep desiring God more until you feel lost in Gods goodness.

believe that God will fill you with himself in a profound way and always be rejecting those thoughts and feelings that say otherwise. understand that if you are seeking God when you read his bible and not leaning on your own self to attempt to understand the depths of Gods wisdom but are as a little lamb in seeking out your caretaker, that God is doing in the spiritual great workings inside of you. that he is feeding your spiritual self and killing your old self by the brightness of his revealing Christ in you, the hope of glory and the Kingdom of God, everlasting joy and love and peace even in the here and now. become an hopeless love sick fool for God, pray to God to wound you with the wound of His love until you realize you are wounded by him. the wound that can not be healed!

First, don't take this verse by itself to understand the whole picture of this. Try coupling it with Jesus' wine skin analogy and the broken cistern analogy in the OT.

A believer's walk is mirrored in Scripture, and may be expected to go through certain phases, all reflected in the Exodus and wanderings under Moses, and other models in Scripture. It is important to understand these stories in order to grasp where you may be on your path, and whether forward progress is being made.

Your question is often a signal that a believer has outgrown the initial image of Christ that has been presented to them, and is ready to seek a deeper understanding of Him.
It ended up being quite jarring for me, and I wouldn't want to bias you, so I'll just say that a more spiritual understanding of Christ is for you to define, Phil 2:12 ...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, and don't expect an easy trip.

Every inch of skin will be flayed from you; and Christ would say Count the cost. There's a list around somewhere, I can dig it up for you if you're serious. Your whole family will abandon you; for a while, or forever. Think about it. Peace to you.

Read the Bible often, and approach your Bible reading times with a genuine desire for your mind to be renewed by God.

Before beginning to read, pray and ask God to teach you and to renew your mind with His Word.

(And when He shows you something in the Bible that really 'speaks' to you in some kind of special or new or revelatory way? Thank Him!)

Behold God's glory: "We all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory. (2Cor 3:18 ESV)"

Think about good things: "Brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable. Practice what you've learned and received from me, what you heard and saw me do. Then the God who gives this peace will be with you. (Phil 4:8-9 GWT)" - "me" is Paul, who wrote Philippians
