CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, we had just started courting last January.
Last Valentine's Day was our first long phone conversation.
(We had met online and only briefly talked up to then)
The call ended with Randy singing to me some songs he had written.
It was the best Valentine's Day either of us had ever had.
And this year we are happily married now for 2 1/2 months.

Nope. It was still six months before we met. It's hard to believe. It feels like I've known him longer.

The status for my girlfriend and I was the same last year as it is now. The sad thing is we can't celebrate valentine's day together because we live so far from each other. Maybe some day it will happen. The important thing tough is we are very happy together.

Yes, I was with my current bf last year, but this year my cat is sick so we end up taking him to the vet and me spending at my house looking after my cat so we didn't spend valentines together... but it is ok...everyday for us is special not only valentines day!

I've known my boyfriend since I was 13 because we went to school together, but around this time last year was when we first began chatting on the internet with each other. He and a guy I was involved with at the time (but never officially dated) are friends, and that's basically how we began keeping in touch and then formed a friendship.
So, I suppose our status then was "acquaintances." Our status today could be described as "madly in love, crazy about one another."

hmm... last valentine's day was about a week after we met in person for the first time and we weren't able to celebrate, heck we were barely even able to talk last year since we were both working. but that was the first time we told eachother we loved eachother.
we're pretty much in the same place as last year. still in love, still in an LDR, though i think we would both be much happier if we lived closer to eachother.

We weren't dating a year ago, I actually didn't spend that much time with him. That all started about 6 months ago. We'd talk and I'd sit with him in church but that was pretty much it, he didn't come to many of the college group activities so that didn't help any either. We have a weird connection through family and stuff and knew each other as kids and actually went to the same high school but I didn't know him, we met again 15 years later.

A year ago I was not dating my boyfriend, in fact I had just recently met him. I had been working at my job for just over a month, and he was a shift manager that I met a few weeks after I started. He was a friend of my brother's (they worked together) and I thought he was a nice guy, kinda cute, out of my league....

We're still engaged, and now things are looking up to possibly being able to get married early next year.

We just had met and getting to know each other last Valentine's Day and it was 'light' and fun, at that time. But as we got to know each other, it seemed to me, he was in a hurry to get married again and I wasn't in a rush. We were LDR and I agreed to move across the country where he was, but then he started pressuring me to sell my house, which I told him I wouldn't do, so we split up......I was actually relieved, because he was putting too much pressure on me.
So, this year, I'm happily single....and no pressure!
