Now, one the the greatest rock and roll stories comes from the above song, At The Hop. This is NOT the orginal song! The group took the original song to Dick Clark, and asked for his opinion. The song was Do The Bop, Dick loved the tune, but told them that the dance, the bop, was on the way out--so he suggested changing some of the lyrics, and renaming it to At The Hop.

But the original does survive! The group also changed their name, but here is how it sounded in the beginning!
