They still do that. Well, my grocery store does. It's called carry out service. Ask them next time if someone can help you out to the car with your groceries.

I remember getting one brand new box of crayons in my entire childhood. I promptly lost them at the creek where I was collecting tadpolls. Talk about heartbreaking.

Here's the way I think it goes about the different styles and lengths of pants. In the 50's or 60's the pants that Mary Tyler Moore wore on the Dick VanDyke show were called capris. The were just above the ankle and had tapered legs. Pants that came just about to your knee or to the middle of your knee were knee knockers. Just below the knee pants were called clam diggers and half way down the calf were pedal pushers.
