  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I remember all of those bands well. It actually doesn't seem that long ago.

I was shocked to go to a classic car show recently only to find a 1972 Chevy Pick-up truck that was the same year and make I learned to drive in.

Talk about feeling old, I told the owner he rained on my weekend for putting that 'new' of a truck in a classic car show.

 Cars were made better.

NIN was the group I listened to.

I remember. The sad thing is that I was into an obscure strand of alternative. My fav. band that had 'just the right sound' was and still is Between Thieves.

I remember the first time I heard Nirvana. It was thier radio debut and I said "They're going to be big, I need to keep track of them!" I even drug my dad over to the radio to listen. He decided to go on about the meaning of Nirvana and how it is impossible.... The funny thing is, I lived in the back woods and managed to miss thier whole career from then on until after Curt died. By then everyone was calling me whatever name they had for fans that weren't fans until after he died. Made me mad. I had no reason to lie.

Oh man. The music of the 90s. I remember the first time I heard Sponge's "Plowed" on the radio I knew I had to have the CD. To this day I have my worn out copy of "Rotting Pinata" and it's still one of my favorite albums. It ranks right on up there with God Lives Underwater's self-titled album. That CD may have only had six tracks on it, but they were amazing tracks. My high school sweetheart and I made out to that album a few times. Every time I listen to "Lonely Again" on my iPod it leaves me breathless. Good times. Great music.

On a more amusing note, it wasn't long ago I saw a video for a new song Pearl Jam has released. I'm watching it and I'm thinking, "who are all these old farts in the audience?" and it dawned on me - they were likely some of Pearl Jam's first faithful fans. I am one of those old farts in the audience. ^_^

I was a metal head in elementary and junior high, Iron Maiden, Ratt, Def Leppard, Kiss, Ozzy, then the last good band was Guns n Roses. In the early 90's when my buddy, Eric, played Nirvana in the car and was rockin' out to it, a little tear came down my face like the Indian guy in the 70's when they threw trash on him from the side of the road. Alternative was and is, garbage IMO. I hated it then, hated it through high school, hate it now. I'm in a real minority I realize LOL....I'm starting to tolerate it a little more now like with Nickelback and a few others but overall, puke...LOL:p
