Anyone else getting psyched about the new album from these unconventional music maestros? Their first single "Leaving New York" is on their website and it is amazing. First you may think it a hybrid of "typical REM" and "what the?" but like with so many REM songs it gets better the more you listen to it. i.e. Country Feedback, Can't Get There From Here, Daysleeper

REM are amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing! I love the sound of leaving new yourk - its really beautiful. And yes i ahev every rem album ever released - plus a coulple of best ofs - theyre so good. Has anyone seen them live? Ive not been so lucky - but i have roadmovie on video from their monster tour - so im thinking itd be amazing to see them - thye put on a great show.

Marry me! REM are having a big "world tour" in 2004/2005, even coming to Australia apparently. Yay, my first REM concert Yeah LNY is a good single, some complain it is too overproduced, but the layers work well - imagine doing that live though

What's your favourite songs? Mine: Losing My Religion, Imitation of Life, Country Feedback, E-bow, Daysleeper, Find the River, Perfect Circle, Wolves Lower, Fall on Me and nearly every other one...

Yes! And even more excited that they will be touring, hopefully I'll get to see them this time.

A 14 year old into old fogeys REM, I'm impressed! In a few days, it will be 1-month till go time. Here's hoping for another classic piece of art.
