What Glory do they bring to God?

God is glorified through His creation, in the angels and in the Saints

the relics of the Saints remind us that the soul goes to heaven while the body awaits the Resurrection... when we venerate relics, we are venerating those who served God well, and whose bodies will be raised to new life in Him. venerate=show respect..

Ah, then are you saying that relics in the RCC and EO are in no way different than the American flag or my dad's car or Tony Gwinn's baseball bat - all of which we should respect? Relics in the RCC and EO are no different than that?

in a way, but see relics deserve MORE respect than a baseball bat or a car. That's what veneration is: we venerate everything associated with God because it is made holy by Him.

Exactly. Just as we salute the flag, so to do we respect the relics of saints who have "fought the good fight" and died in faith. But as Monica mentioned, we pay them even more respect than the flag, for although the flag is a symbol of our great country, the relics of saints represent those who have led a life that points to Christ.

So just as we honor Thomas Jefferson and those who struggled for our freedom, so to do we honor those who lived a life in Christ.

The American flag, your dad's car, and Tony Gwinn's baseball bat are not temples of the Holy Spirit, so no, the respect shown is much different.

So dead bones are the temple of the HS?

1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Luk 20:38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

I'm not sure about the Orthodox theology.. but the Catholic theology of this is that God can work through relics - and other objects.. this is where we get the whole idea of Sacraments and sacramentals. Sacraments are outward signs of a spiritual reality, but they're more than symbols because they actually affect spiritualy reality - God uses them to give us grace. Baptism and the Eucharist are examples. Sacramentals are objects that God uses as occasions of grace. Grace doesn't come from them, but they're associated with an event in which God acts in some way. An example would be Elisha's bones. Which is - just like relics! Of course the Holy Spirit is involved in miracles associated with relics. And there are many many miracles.

We can show respect without hanging onto relics.

No one is arguing that. You can live your entire life never venerating an icon, a relic, and still be a good Orthodox Christian.

This isn't dogma, but rather tradition (with a small "t.")

God has used the relics of His saints for many years to heal and perform miracles. You don't "lose" anything by not venerating them, but you don't "gain" anything by ignoring them either.

I believe that when you see us kissing relics and such you think we are worshipping the relics when we are not. The only worship we offer is to the the One and Only True Triune God.
