  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Relaxation.

Hello everybody,

I just wanted to share how relaxing I find classical music. I tend to get stressed when I am driving and when I have had a hard day at work; and I find the best form of wind-down is classical music. I tune my radio to Classic FM and listen to some of the best composers in the world. I love the strings, the piano and other instruments.

I would advise anyone to listen to classical music when you are stressed or need to make a decision as it helps me immensely.

Please let me know how classical music helps you.

:amen:

A few years ago we adopted a one year old Airedale dog from Airedale Rescue. This dog had been in many different places in her first year. Shuffled from temporary place to temporary place until we got her. The last was riding for two days in a 18 wheeler being delivered to us from Kansas City to Michigan. When I picked her up in our car I connected her to a short rope in the back seat so she wouldn't jump around the car. I drove onto the expressway and at that point she freaked out and tried to jump out the back & side window then barked/growled right next to my ear. At that point I was surrounded by heavy traffic at 70+ mph. Before attempting to pull over to the shoulder to calm her down I turned on the radio which was tuned to a Classical station. She immediately calmed down and laid down on the back seat. I did not need to pull over, just kept the classical music on for the hour drive back home. She now lays down on her bed near the speaker and lets out a contented sigh whenever we turn on classical music.
