our age gap was 15 years; I was 42 when we married. It was not a factor in our divorce after 17 years (as far as I know, and I will expand on that if you wish)
It totally depends on the people involved.

I was the one who initially resisted marriage, in part because of that wide gap. As it happened, because he was quite mature, and I was adventurous & active, it never seemed to matter. I introduced him to things like wonderful older movies, he kept me up to date on good music and the talking never ended.

It is possible, depending on the individuals, to ignore that gap. Could you be more specific about your fears? EZoo named the major downfalls...

I'm only 5 years older than my husband, I was 35 when we got married.

I think that most problems will begin occurring later in life and relate to medical issues, and retirement issues.
