Relationship help, please...

Hey so, I just got back from a church retreat/camp. I have been going for about 4 years now but since the first, I have been lacking and have been a "sleeping" christian. This time, I feel like I really need God in my life and I really want to follow Jesus.

Anyway, I have known this girl who is also Christian, I met her at a retreat years ago, we're both 18.
I know she likes me, and I like her so much. I suffer from Social Anxiety, and I try my best to overcome it, it is so hard but I know it is possible.

I want to have a relationship with her sometime soon, or just anytime.

I have prayed about it, I have asked God for his word in my situation. I dont know what to expect from God but I believe He has a plan for me, this girl may be the girl God has chosen for me, she may not be but I will pursue her.
What happens happens and I will just let God decide.

I guess what I was asking for is, what should I be expecting here? How will i know what God wants for me? I really liker this girl.

2. Who knows what God wants for you with the girl? Only you will, and that comes with learning how to interpret what the Holy Spirit is telling you. Start living your life based around your convictions, rather than your emotions or logic. Convictions will only come from God, and you will eventually be able to tell them apart from emotion. It comes with time, practice, patience, self-control, and all those other Fruits of the Spirit.

You are right, thanks for answering. I guess whatever happens between me and the girl is the result of whether I go after her or not.

You are blessed to find a Christian girl. Most of the girls I've affiliated with have all been quite irreligious (giving quite a bad influence on me). I think I understand social anxiety...I have shyness, perhaps that's the same? Anyway it's good that you're both adults and a similar age.

I think that in a relationship, you should always think in the perspective of your partner. What does she want? What does she see in you? Do you want the best for her? Most relationships fail because both people put themselves first, they think that they have the authority. I believe that in one of his letters, Saint Paul made it clear that a husband would own his wife, and a wife would own her husband; mutual love (like yin and yang).

Thank you so much! I know it is great and such a blessing that I have found a Christian girl who likes me and I really dont want to ruin it and I feel because of my social anxiety I have messed up my chances of getting with her so many times, and she is so great that she has given me tons of chances that I blow it every time and right now Im tired of it and I want to take action before its too late.

As Kurama said above, you are very blessed that God has given you a good Christian girl to be partnered with! Pray over it and if you feel its right, and I'm getting that vibe, pursue it! You'll regret it later if you don't!

you can overcome the social anxiety when around her, I say talk to her alot more and learn more about her. God's plan can't be broken if you're willing so be patient and God will let it all fall into place

If you want results and Have God's word for your life, I suggest fasting a little, sometimes we can underestimate the power of Fasting and what it can do for your spiritual life when you need answers

Have faith that God will place you two together, He will not let you down keep praying He hears you

I'm a little bit socially anxious aswell. All I wouldsay is be confident and get to know the girl a bit better and take it from there, just put all your faith in God. If it isn't in accordance with God's will, I imagine that God would make it clear to you through the holy spirit. For example when I do something that God doesn't want I tend to feel a lot of guilt and a strong will to repent and recover my relationship with God.
