• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I had a mental breakdown earlier this year, and spent three months basically lying in bed without any motivation to do anything else.

Three months of my boyfriend moving in with my family to be my full time carer later, I was vaguely okay.

And now I'm sick again. And he's not living here, and he has his own life to live, and I don't want to make my problems his life again, but I'm finding it really hard to do anything.

My head melts down every few hours, and I've spent the weekend in and out of catatonic states with him looking after me, and now he's gone home for a well deserved rest but I'm kind of sick of being ill.

Help?

Okay, it's damaging your health, you have to start doing something! The best cure in the world is music! Get your girl power tracks on and sing like no one's around!

If you have girl friends go out, let them know you feeling ikky but want to go forget about it-then go dancing/shopping/faffing about with friends.

Depression is like mould, if you stay still and let the voices in your head take up your time then the depression grows :(

God only makes wonderfully amazing people, so enjoy life! You deserve to be happy!

Kyrie,

There's really only a little "madness" in Gods4Me's post. Fresh air will do wonders for you! Spending the whole weekend inside isn't good. God made us to be social creatures (I know you know that...you've come to be "social" here). If you're uncomfortable with humans right now...go out and be with God in nature. It is a wonderful way to connect. And remember, He'll listen--He always does.

Blessings!

Hi,
I was wondering if there was anyone else around that might be able to give you a hand. sOMEONE TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO SOME THINGS. iT'S ALWAYS BETTER WITH SOMEONE WITH YA. I know from experience taking that first step toward doing something is very hard, but also rewarding. I had anxiety so bad to begin with i couldn.t be left alone without having severe attacks. eventually, I took one step at a time toward trying to do something., and it started to work. I still have anxiety and depression, but i can go out now and do a lot of things i couldn't before.
Chuck.

Thankyou everyone. Today's been a bit better, and I did get out of the house for a little while. I bought another plant, so that will give me something else to keep me outside while I try to get it to survive. I've managed not to kill another two, so I should be ok :)
I've needed to see my doctor again for a while, but the last few days I've been too sick to go anywhere near calling anyone on the phone. I'm going to see him sometime soon, and hopefully that will help.
