I've watched a disturbing news report just a few months ago and it just hit me today that this is one of the saddest stories i've heard. You've probably known this to occur a few times across the world.

Two couples have a sick child. They ask God to cure him. The young baby (can't remember the sickness) was pretty ill and the parents refused help from doctors and people. So they only seek God to heal the sick child. Unfortunately the young baby died not long after his long ordeal. And the parents were charged with manslaughter.

Ok, that's a good display of faith and so i commend them. But why must they refuse outside help? Is the whole world of doctors out there just SO satanic that only the purity of God can cure the young baby? Partly i'm just sad for the baby who never even got outside help and passed away. All he got was garlic rubbed on his feet thinking it can cure him.

Any comments?

Yep.
Refusing medical treatment, in my opinion, can be denial of the gifts of God.

God Himself gave man a mind with which to think.

God Himself gave man a mind that can devise many wondrous things.

God Himself gave man a bountiful earth replent with curative herbs and other things that heal.

Some men investigated what God hath wrought upon the earth and became adept at the understanding and practice of medicine.

Illness and disease occur upon God's earth. They occur when men make mistakes, such as handling soiled items, inadvertently encountering substances toxic to men, accidents, etc. etc. Men learn from these mistakes. Men learn how to avoid foolish mistakes in the future. And some men learn how to help the sufferer in the meantime.

God is a benevolent Father. Jesus healed the lepers, raised the dead and cured the lame. This was in accordance with the Will of the Father.

They call antibiotics 'miracle' drugs. Well, that says a lot, Sharky. God provided man with the means to compose these substances for the benefit of His children.

God be praised in the miracles he provides for the care of His children.

I feel it was a grossly negligent thing that the parents did, that was born of innocent ignorance.

some people feel that everything is in God's control and that we shouldn't interfere with God's will, if it was in His will, He'd have cured the child. Of course we all know that it doesn't work that way, but that's just one sad extreme of Christianity.

I remember a story like that, that happened here in Australia, was very sad, but refusing medical help for that baby was sad, it breaks my heart to think that happened , there is nothing wrong with doctors treating us when we are ill, and yes I think it was innocent ignorance too

Although I know from experience that God can heal even the most deadly of illnesses, I still believe all Christians should except help from the world. God blesses you through mysterious ways, and sometimes it can come through the help of others. But if you don't except that help, then you won't get blessed.
