The heavy rain continued off and on overnight.

According to this morning's forecast it should have been chucking it down again by now and carry on doing that till about midnight.

We have blue skies with a few , very few, grey clouds and it's warm with a very slight breeze . It will be interesting to see what happens .

Both yesterday and during the night we had very heavy showers.

Was dry when I went to Church this morning - came out and it was chucking it down again

We had six or seven great weeks.

We're not in August yet so there's still hope...

We have indeed had some great weeks - and admittedly some areas are desperately needing rain - but 3 or four days constant gentle rain would be better than about 6 hours of incredibly heavy , if you were caught in it without appropriate gear it would be of the variety my elder daughter refers to as 'once you are inside it's change EVERYTHING as even your underwear is soaked by the wet stuff '. Personally I think that's an excellent description

we are having little intermittent showers now . According to my daughter down South they need soft gentle rain overnight for the next couple of weeks - the ground is so hard and dry that heavy rain just doesn't soak in
