  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

paliggenesia the noun seems to only be used twice in the scriptures.

Matthew 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

In the first passage, I read that Jesus is placing this as happening when He sits on His throne yet the second seems to imply that it has happened for us already. To muddle the situation Jesus tells, the twelve that they will be sitting on thrones judging the tribes of Israel.

Personally I like to think that I have been washed by the blood of Jesus and have been renewed by the Holy Ghost, yet why would Jesus tell those closest to Him that they will have to wait? If I will "judge angels" (1Cor 6:3) will that be from a throne?
