  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi all, I was looking at purchasing the Reformation Study Bible (ESV) The editors are Sproul and Mathison which excites me as I think highly of both of these men. Anyone ever use this? Opinions? Thought I would check here before I purchased. Thanks...:)

I have it in NKJV - love it, it is my primary Bible (I didn't know about the ESV when I purchased mine or I probably would have chosen that translation). Since I'm reformed I really appreciate the fact that the helps look at Scripture from the Reformed perspective. I know one of my pastors uses it for personal study - I purchased mine after borrowing his.

I also have the Spirit of the Reformation Study Bible (NIV). Most of the helps are the same - but it includes such documents as the WCF, Canons of Dort, Belgic Confession, Heidleburg Catechism, Westminster Larger & Shorter Catechism. So, I got a whole lot of extras for the same money. I admit, I mostly use this one for the extras - but also compare with other translations (NASB & NKJV).

edb19 is now a training moderator ? Congrats. Good luck in your training program.

Thanks for the congrats and the good wishes.

Had a sudden realization this evening - I'm essentially computer illiterate (the only things I can do on a computer are things that someone has shown my how to do). I'm thinking that might be a problem. OOOPS.
