Reflection-based small group

Dear my Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I posted before, asking about koinonia, but as I understand better, now I narrowed down my question.

I grew up in a community-minded culture, and now I live in US.
Back then I grew up in a reflection small groups. We have fellowship, bible study, and then sharing (reflection).

Something like described in here:
The Place of Reflection in Soul Care

I proposed such small group to my church, but they rejected it as they didn't see the value in it. Their existing small group is study-focus.

I am really longing for true/deep fellowship that nourishes each other through sharing reflections, struggles, and witnessing what God did in our lives.

What church denomination that has something like this? Or is there any parachurch small group like this?

hi the whole personal reflection time is sort of cool but also a danger as many of these groups substitute spiritual experiences for truth. You see a study that emphasizes a doctrine or clear biblical teaching can be given and then everyone's reaction and responses can be good. Many churches are embraces contemplitive prayer and meditation and centering prayers and doing spiritual mazes that is not biblical but pagan in origin. Whatever you do if it is based on conforming to the word it will be good.

My church does community oriented small groups. Each one serves in a different area of the community, including homeless and foster families. It's a non denominational church, though.

Thanks for the reminder. Yes, what I had in mind is bible centered reflection. So, the group will be lead by a leader who has a strong biblical knowledge.

Of course, if it's local, you shouldn't mention it publicly.
