refilling Holy Water

Can this happen endlessly? Or is there a limit on the number of times one is supposed to do this? What I mean is, I remember asking about what to do when I was running low on Holy Water, and someone on here stated that I could add regular water to the bottle, becuase the Holy Water would sanctify it, thus making all of it Holy Water again. So can I do this forever - just making sure that I always have at least a little Holy Water to sanctify more?

What does Holy Water do? I know what it does in Dungeons & Dragons, but what does it do in real life?

When they were building their new church the local Roman Catholic Church used our Lutheran Church for Sunday worship. Their services were at 8:00 and 9:00, our service was at 11:00. I think they had another service in the early afternoon. One Sunday morning I was on the usher team for our Lutheran service and one of us accidentally knocked over the Holy Water receptacle at the back of the church. Not sure what to do, we just refilled it from the drinking fountain. The next Sunday we told the Father what we had done. He smiled, I think seeing that we Lutherans felt bad for what we had done, and told us not to worry about it.

to the OP, yes you can refill endlessly, provided some Holy Water was at the bottom to sanctify the water added.
