Red Flowers Keep Wasps' Nests away

[Rescued One]

Every year I had to get rid of wasps' nests on my garage and front porch. They always built their nests in the same spots anyway. This year I learned that they aren't attracted to red flowers. So I have only red flowers instead of the usual pink, violet, and white. I thought I'd see some hummingbirds, but sadly, I haven't. I have fuschia, red petunias, red impatiens, and red dipladenia, but no hummers.

That's odd. I thought hummers liked the red flowers the best? I only have feeder this year and I have only seen them a few times. They don't seem as busy as they were in previous years.
