  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have an 8 year old DD and a 2 year old DS. We're getting the family a Wii for Christmas. It came with the sports games. What would be a few more games that I can be on the look out for? I don't think DS can actually play anything, but if you know of something educational for him, please share.

We haven't played too many games yet on the wii... my son has nick toon battle bots... he likes it, he's 6... i don't think it's all that great. Wall E was kind of fun... i haven't tried mario galaxy yet, the marios are usually good. I don't recomend the olympic one with mario or sonic, it's hard and frustrating. As for educational games... i've looked into educational pre-school type stuff on the game systems before and never found any... they are usually for entertainment purposes only I think.

LOL, we love Mario/Sonic Olympics. So fun. But it might be too complex for a child under 8.

The Petz games are fun for little ones. Pretty simple controls and lots of "free-range" activities (where they can just run around).

My girls love the karaoke games...they have High School Musical, but have played some of the others, too. You just sing the words into the mic and try to hit the right notes on the right beat...no controller involved (except to make your song selections).

Mario Kart is awesome fun! And one that all ages can play.
I enjoyed Mario Galaxy, but i think it is alot harder than the previous Mario games. Maybe because of the controls. I got stuck in the first level and needed my Husband to unstick me!
Super Paper Mario is cool as well.
Wario Ware is fun too (i think that is what it is called).
We have HEAPS of Wii games, but i can't for the life of me remember what other ones we have!

The other cool thing about the wii is that you can download games from previous nintendo systems. So I have a few games from the SNES as that is what I grew up playing.
