  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I like the idea. I’m not much of a cook, but I’ll give it a shot (hopefully the “missus” will join in or I’m sure it will be a disaster!)

Another recipe I love- Buttermilk Biscuits!

2 cups SR flour (white lily preferred)
1/2 cup Crisco
About 3/4 cup butter milk

Preheat oven to 500 degrees
1. Cut the Crisco into flour until it's about pea sized. I use two butter knives. The less you handle the flour the better.
2. Slowly add in buttermilk and mix with your hands until desired texture. Again, less handling is better.
3. Put dough on floured surface and press out.
4. Dip a cup in flour and use to cut circles in the dough. I take remaining dough and form lumpy cathead biscuits with my hands.
5. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until slightly golden.
6. Enjoy! Leftovers are great in the broiler with cheese!

Crustless Quiche

1 large zucchini shredded, or grated and drained
2 large carrots
1 cup broccoli
1 onion, chopped
1 tsp rosemary sage salt
12 eggs, beaten
1 tbs coconut oil/butter for greasing pan
(you can add shredded sweet potato too if you want some Good Carbs added in)

Mix together the ingredients (make sure the zucchini has been drained). Pour into a greased (I use grass-fed butter) 9x13 inch baking pan. Swirl the ingredients with a fork. Bake for 45 minutes or until edges are brown. Quiche will puff up while baking and then deflate when removed from the oven.

Serve with a side of bacon :D (Sweet salsa is good too)

Ok, so I still need to try that one, but I’m trying to make my wife supper tonight...(may the Lord protect us all...)

White fish in a skillet in the oven with tomato and onion

1 lb white fish fillets (I think I have cod, or maybe haddock, or was it pollock...can’t remember which I picked up today)

28 oz can of diced tomato
1 large white onion
4 cloves of garlic
1 cup of white wine
Oregano
Salt pepper
Chile powder

1. Dice onions and garlic and cook in a skillet until soft.
2. Add tomatoes and white wine and simmer for, I don’t know....I did around 20 minutes. Oh yeah, and I added salt and pepper and oregano to that mix.
3. While that is simmering, pat down fish, and sprinkle with chile powder and salt and pepper.
4. Put fish in the skillet and cover with the tomato/wine/onion sauce.
5. Put in the oven at 350 for about 25 minutes (I guess) until fish is cooked and flakes with a fork (or so I’m told).
6. Serve over a bed of rice.

Picture to come. We’re having it with a green salad and steamed broccoli.

(Hopefully she’ll be surprised and in such shock that I cooked - and consider the intention behind it - that she won’t be deterred by the fact that I cooked...she should be home in about 15 minutes, when I think the fish will be done)

Edit: I even cleaned up my mess.
