  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anything. I think it's perfectly fine to escape the realm of pure couples' devotions and look for something that benefits one's entire walk with Christ and not just that with their SO. I for one would rather be edified with the core truths of grace, faith, etc. before considering how to apply them specifically in my relationship, because in all likelihood what I learn from my devotional time could be beneficial in not only my relationship but all areas of my life. And in a couple scenario, I'm more a fan of doing the devotion separately then coming together to share thoughts and ideas about what was learned by each of us.

Just my thoughts :)

I agree that devotions don't need to necessarily be geared towards couples. But, there are times when you want something specifically aimed at you, wheter that's a teen's devotional, men's devotional, women's devotional, couples devotional, parents devotional, etc.

So if you're lookung for a good coules devotional, Jan and I are almost through "starting Out Together" by H. Norman Wright. It is for dating r engaged couples and we have found it very helpful. He has alos authored anther one, more intended for engaged couples titled "Before You Say 'I Do'".

We haven't used it yet, but "Moments Together for Couples" by Dennis and Barbara Rainey has 365 daily devotionals for coules in it.
