Does anyone here dream profusely and about the strangest things? I wake up each and every morning with a whole bunch of strange stuff to tell hubby. He generally ends up laughing and shaking his head. We both wonder where on earth this stuff comes from. ^_^

Anyway, last night I dreamed that I took my daughter out to eat and we had fried monkey feet!!!!!

Anyone else want to share the weird, wonderful, bizarre, and even frightening dream world?

Well, I had one the other night. I dreamed that I was at my wedding and I didn't know who I was getting married to. I was walking around asking people who was I marrying. No one would tell me.

That's a bit scary. LOL Making a lifetime commitment to whos knows...

I had a dream last night that Steven Speilberg was encouraging my son to start training for the swim team with an olympic swimmer. (I've been dreaming of Steven Speilberg a lot lately. )

The swimming was no doubt because I've been trying to encourage my son to start training for the High School swim team. Steven Speilberg is just an illustration of someone who's opinion might carry more weight than mine.

Dreams always mean something. You don't need a book to figure them out. All you have to do is examine your thought processes and the experiences you're having to see the corelations. The subconscious is an avenue for working out what you can't or won't in your conscious state. If it didn't exist, we would go insane. God thinks of everything. Pretty cool, huh?

For example:
Monkey feet could mean a longing for something a little less ordinary, or more special and exotic to share with your daughter. Do you get caught up in the "normal" day to day and long for something more adventurous to share?

Unknown groom: Could stem from the uncertainty or doubt that you really know (or might not know) who you're marrying. We after all, none of us really know every facet of another human being. And there is always that underlying insecurity that we might not be completely cemented in whether our decisions are the right ones or not. Especially major ones like this. Or marriage could just mean agreement, or meeting of the minds, being on the same page about something.

Ex-husband could mean a longing for the known and comfortable, or could be indicitive of a connection to who you are/were that you've put away in this chapter of your life.

Just remember that you play all the parts in your dreams. And only you hold the key to really understanding what they mean.

Not everything you go through in your sleep state is necessarily a dream however. But, I won't go into that here.

And no, I'm not an authority on this subject or any other. I just read a lot. And have been spiritual always.

Good examples Wisdom Seeker.

I know of people that interpret dreams in different ways. Like, they'll either interpret them for what it's worth (like the examples you gave). Then there are those that would take the spiritual spin on it, where water (what your son will be training for) stands for "blessings". So, as his biological and Spiritual Mom you are getting him ready to "dive into his Blessings in Life"!! WOW! I feel a preaching coming on!!!!! (LOL!)

Spiritually speaking certain animals stand for different sins and/or challenges coming a persons way.

Another example is: Nakedness in dreams means you are vulnerable.

Dreams can be interesting. Some say that Dreams are just that- Dreams. However, The Word of God says: Joel 2:28
"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions."

Wait - Just because we are in the FAB. FORTIES forum - does that make us "OLD MEN/WOMEN"???? LOL!!!!!

Just my thoughts.

I had a dream last night that a female ghost figure with long blonde hair, about half my height was standing in the yard where my family was. I went to walk towards them and started screaming "get away from me!" over and over again in terror. And I remember being aware that no matter how loud I screamed, my husband just looked at me, amused. He made no attempt to help me. (Frustrating.)

This morning my husband told me with amusement, that I was talking in my sleep last night. And that he watched me for quite some time without it ever occuring to him that he should do anything...LIKE WAKE ME UP! :swoon:

Just my thoughts.

I was just throwing random examples out there. I wasn't interpreting anyone's dreams. I haven't been gifted that way.

What I thought was obvious about my dream about my son, was my insecurities about my opinion not being given much weight with him.. (I'm sure all Mom's feel this way at one time or another about their teenagers) It wasn't about water. I've never heard that water meant blessings before. I've heard it is symbolic of birth, or sex. But, not blessings. So, that's a new one on me. The swim team subject was because of a conversation he and I really had. It wasn't something my mind thought up to be symbolic of something else. But, it was a pretty illustration. So, thanks.

As for your saying that some people interpret them the way I did , and other people interpret them spiritually, I tend to think that given two choices, the simplest explanation usually tends to be true. ( Ocums razor. ) IOW sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. ;)

As far as your (I assume to be sarcastic) question re: people posting in this forum being old. :D I keep reading that attitude in here, and I for the life of me don't understand why you all feel that way. I don't. :tutu:
