Really Good News

I get to go see my kids in Upstate, NY during the memorial day weekend!

I was able to get plane tickets relatively cheap and my ex-girlfriend's mom said I can stay at her place, and they are going to be my transportation. My ex-girlfriend let me know that they usually go to the lake that weekend, but I am welcome to come along with them.

It will be three months shy of six years since I last seen them! I am both excited and nervous at the same time... lol.

That's wonderful, Boidae......and quite a change in your ex's attitude (isn't it?). Praying that it will be a wonderful trip for all of you. Does this mean she's letting you speak to them on a regular basis (it seems like that would ease some of the nerves)?

It has always been an open door policy to see them, but I had to be able to get up there to see them. Being 1200 miles away, it isn't easy. She said from the start that I can see them whenever I wanted.

My son is still not speaking to me beyond a sentence here or there on Facebook on pictures and statuses he has posted on. My other kids were given their own cell phone last month because my one daughter made high honors, and my oldest daughter made the honor roll. So they were rewarded with a cell phone.

My daughter that made high honors has also been selected to audition for jeopardy in April.

I was just remembering how your ex was making it really difficult for you to keep in touch with them. I hope she encourages their relationship with you....and that their cell phones make that easier.

Have fun. I know a guy who drink a lot and he didn't go see his 6 year old daughter. She started peeing her pants after that. A father being gone can mess kids up.
