Hi,
I'm new here, this is my first post. I am an admirer of Aquinas and have been working on a view of reality and cognition that is somewhat thomistic, in a general sense. Wondering if anyone here would give me a critique so I can see where its strengths and weaknesses lie...??
Simple premise: Reality/existence is composed of information.
Information, idea and meaning are somewhat different modes of the substance of reality. All objects, corporeal and incorporeal, material and immaterial, are composed of information, meaning and idea.
Information is the 'thatness' of existence; it's both descriptive and prescriptive in nature and universal and specific in structure.
Idea is the cognitive mode of information. Idea is dynamic, animated information. It is, recieves and disseminates information.
Meaning is the expression of the various aspects of information. It is the "information" of information, the 'whatness' of existence, the affiliation and affinity of information in all its configurations. Meaning is the transitive expresion of information's content.
Information can be true or false.
This is enough of a start to see if there's any interest.
Thanks.
