  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Be warned: The following is not my quote, but one of a friend's. Thank you Beth and I hope all take something with them today from this.

What makes a person beautiful? When people look upon us, they see the beauty of our face, but if we were to walk around and see with the eyes of the Lord, what would we see? If we were to see everyone's naked spirit, what would beauty mean?

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord, is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30

Women of beauty, how would we see your spirit?

"As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair women which is without discretion." Proverbs 11:22

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." 1 Peter 3:3,4

We should want our beauty to be looked upon as Abigail in the book of 1 Samuel, who was a women of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance...

"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God Reigneth!" Isaiah 52:7

Oh God, I pray that You reveal to me my spirit. If I be unclean Lord, forgive me and renew me once again. God let Your Spirit be a mirror unto my countenance, Lord I want to be beautiful in your sight.

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye are like unto white sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness." Matthew 23:27

Lord in everything I do, let it be unto you. God I long to serve you with my whole heart. My outward beauty will fade Lord, but I want the fullness of the beauty within that you long to give me dear God...

"And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us..." Psalm 90:17

"Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness." Psalm 29:2

Lord I am humbled that you have chosen me to do your work. God I will give you all of the Glory and the Praises Lord, for You and You alone are worthy...

"The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head." Proverbs 20:29

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if ther be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8

God I pray right now, that you reveal to me my spirit... Lord let me see myself through your eyes God, and let me change according to your perfect will. Lord mold me, and make me into what you would have me to be, dear God.
Lord I ask that when people look at me, they see not the beauty that is skin deep, but they see only You in me Lord. Lord let them hear your voice when I speak, and feel your spirit when I sing. God let them feel your love in my touch, and see your Grace in my works God. Lord prune my branches God, so that I may bear more fruit for you. And Lord remind me to always give you the glory God, for You are SO great, and SO wonderful, and SO lovely, and SO faithful, and SO deserving of our praise.
In the name of Jesus I pray.... ~Amen
