I have always heard that you are supposed to have three months on income put up for emergencys. If you get sick, lose your job, what ever.
I don't have a savings. I have never been good at saving and I really have a hard time saying no to Taylor when she ask for something.
I was hurt at work on Feb 8th. I really thought I had all my bases covered because I have a long and short term disability policy for any illness or injury that I would need to take off work for any extended period of time. I also have good health insurance.
Well, workers comp which should be paying won't pay because they are claiming that the problems I have are preexisting. They are, they have just gotten worse since the fall. I have lived in pain with my neck and back for years. It isn't anything new.
Disability won't pay because workers comp should be paying. So basically I am screwed there. My health insurance will be ending on the last day of the month because I can't afford the cobra payments.
I have also learned that had I been in a car accident or basically any other accident where anyone else could be at fault they still would not pay.
I am still in a lot of pain and I don't know that I can sit in a desk all day every day. I don't see where I have a choice but to go back to work, pain or no pain.
I won't get to have the neck surgery that I need because I am losing feeling from the 3 hernaiated disc in my neck.
So, I am now praying that God will heal me.
I do have a job lined up. It pays a couple dollars an hour less than I made before but it is more than enough to cover our bills. I was just hoping to get to have the surgery before going back to work.
My reason for this long post, is basically to warn everything to read the policiys that you have when you think you are protected in every way it isn't always the case. They have so many little clauses in them, often they really can give you a false sense of security.
I know a lot of people here live on one income. Just thinking how important it is to save money.
