CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Beside reading the Bible, I love to read detectives, thrillers, classics and psychology books. I dont really choose to read a particular author's books. I usually choose the book based on the story outline. However, one of my favourite authors is Agatha christie.

Other than reading the bible, I find I've beenr eading a lot of suspense novels, or crime novels. I still love my fantasy novels though. I think because they help to expand the imagination, where non-fiction books just talk about reality stuff that we can see every day, if that makes any sense

anything by jrr tolkien, anything that has to do with Lord of the Rings, all kinds of star wars books, and a lot of other fantasy stuff i can get my hands on. i like some other stuff but not very much. my little brother likes to read world atlas' and road maps so i read those with him a lot.

My favourite authors (in no particular order) are:
1.Pat Conroy - The Prince Of Tides is my all time favourite book (and movie )
2.Kathy Reichs
3.Roald Dahl
4.Patricia Cornwell
But I read loads of other stuff. I'm a philosophy student so I have to read books and essays for that. The easiest to read is probably Socrates but I prefer the writings of Hume, Mill and Russell.
Oh, and some of my favourite books aren't by any of those writers. They include:
1.Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
2.Jurassic Park - Michael Crichton
3.Memoires of a Geisha - Arthur Golden
4.Speed Of Light - Elizabeth Rosner
5.Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them - Al Franken
6.Eats, Shoots and Leaves - Lynne Truss
So I like a it of everything really.
Currently reading Bleak House which I'm really enjoying, too!

I have noticed a few others mention Patrica Cornwell and I just wanted to make my vote for her Dr. Kay Scarpetta M.E. series. I've read most of them including working on her latest titled "Trace". I also like the James Patterson's Alex Cross series, and his Frannie O'Neall and Maximum series.
As for other sci-fi I enjoy Michael Crichton with my lastest read by him titled "Airframe". As for war time drama I enjoy the Dreamland aviation series by Dale Brown.
I have also read several of Harlan Coben's as well. Of course what reader doesn't like the Left Behind series right. I average a book a week and am on about the 31st one for the year.

I love just about any kind of books. Right now I'm in the middle of Eragon. The way the writer describes everything and keeps the story enteresting is just amazing, I highly recomend this book to anyone who likes dragons, reading, or fantasy.

Give the Old Kingdom Series a try, Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen - all by Garth Nix. I'd love to make a d20 pen and paper RPG supplement about this world, but Garth Nix is apposed to listing all of the Charter Marks, the magic runes used by Charter Mages, for that very reason.

Currently, I'm reading through the Bible. I was a fan of Stephen King, but I'm not sure to read his works or not, as many times as he uses the Lord's name in vain in his books. One good series by him is The Dark Tower - seven books long. I haven't read anything by him in a few months.
I'm also a fan of the LOTR trilogy. I also missed Star Wars Ep. III in theaters, but I read the book.
