  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Possibly old news... I love this series though. I just recently typed Jinbo Cho into Google Earth and it's a real place too! LOL!!!

I dunno if it is really a book haven, but I do know Houghton Mifflin Co appear to have offices of some sort there!

Anyone else a fan? Anyone else know anything about Tokyo?

Although I already had the OVA on DVD and saw the first few episodes of the TV series before it got licensed (I gave up at that point, same with Trinity Blood), I think I'm always going to associate it with this one video* I saw where the scene with the White House was set to "War of 1812" by Three Dead Trolls In A Baggie. That was priceless.

* It appeared in two places - the first was in a collection of shorts set to Arrogant Worms songs (into which it had been put by mistake). The second, and more notable and known appearance, was in AMV Hell 3 - another, far more massive and collaboratory project. Think of it like Robot Chicken for anime, except that the first two AMV Hells predate Robot Chicken by like six months.

I didn't think I was going to like it at the beginning of the first episode, but something about the characters just grabbed me. Meh, apparently I am something of a minority here concerning it though.

I actually have NOT seen the OVA. I will though sooner or later.

I was not into Anime for a long time. When I was last into it, Tank Girl (not the movie) and Vampire Hunter D were some of my favorites.

Anime is very hit and miss with me. Hard to sludge through a lot of it to find the things I like, and then as I say, things I like are not necessarily the things that most people find cool.

I liked the main character. She was impecable. :) :p

Anita? Or are you talking Yomiko Readman, from the original?

I liked Anita a LOT, and I am afraid I rather enjoy the ditzy blond bimbo sister a lot too, and even Maggie, the quiet tall one. The three of them together is what makes the show for me though.
