We've all seen the anti SDA hate sites that are "trying to teach SDAs the truth". But how come we never see for example sites from methodists trying to teach baptists the truth? It seems like the Adventist and Catholic church are the only Christian churches that have hate sites of them.

I think the history of Protestantism explains the animosity that sometimes flares up between Protestants and Catholics.

As far as the anti-Adventist sites, we obviously have many beliefs that are out of the mainstream of Protestant Christianity. Since most other Christians go to church on Sunday, believe in the immortality of the soul, etc., they find common ground in those ideas and view our doctrines as "heterodox."

Also, traditionally, Adventist evangelism in many places has targeted Christians of other denominations, especially with the truth of the Sabbath. Other Christians don't always like our proselytizing and will sometimes say unfavorable things about us to dissuade their members from attending our prophecy seminars or other programs.

In reality, though, other Protestants have serious disagreements with each other in theology as well; just look at all the arguments in GT about predestination or once-saved-always-saved or the rapture or speaking in tongues. I think the difference with us is that many other Chirstians think that our beliefs make us legalists or worse.

Many of the anti-Adventist hate sites are maintained by former Adventists who are bitter toward the church for whatever reasons. Some were taught legalism (and admittedly there are some legalists among us, just as there are in many other Christian churches) and later accepted Christ but couldn't reconcile their understanding of Adventist beliefs with their experience of having a relationship with Jesus. Some left the church because they came to disagree with Adventist doctrines. Some left due to personal issues, like being treated badly by church members.

Any group of people will aways have issues to deal with. Some will end up feeling very strong on ceratin points while others are willing to let them die.

When you have such a group that many consider to be radical, such as SDA's or JW's some will end up with a chip on their shoulder and then want to take it out on who ever they can.

Anti-SDA sites are often run by ex SDA's.

All I have to say about this is...

Any ministry that is founded on the defamation of another religious group is a ministry that can't be trusted, or respected.

I don't agree with what certain groups of people believe, but I'm not going to go out there and put up a website on the internet which does nothing but bash those people who disagree with me. Jesus never operated in this way, and we shouldn't either.

From what I've seen, these websites are replete with hatred. I don't see the character of Christ in them at all. Therefore, I don't waste my time looking into them deeply.
