  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How does a candidate for president win the popular vote by a large margin and lose the the race? Most likely there will not be a re-vote, even though there was Fake News used against Hillary. I bet many have voters remorse by now.

The Almighty puts whoever He wants on the "throne" (Daniel 4:31-32). His choice may sometimes be someone the people don't want so His plans for the future are fulfilled.

There was fake news used against both candidates and it's still happening. There is nothing new about fake news, it has been a part of the political process for centuries.

No one that I know has voter remorse yet. It's way too early for that. Most people like to give the new President at least a few months in office before making any judgements.

It was the wisdom of the framers of the Constitution to keep the largest cities and states from rendering the more rural parts of the country irrelevant in presidential elections.

Clinton"s popular vote lead over Trump was well over 3 million votes alone in California with at least another 1.5 million lead over Trump in New York.

When all the ballots are counted it's likely her overall popular vote will exceed Trump by 2 million votes. She will have won by a wider percentage margin than not only Al Gore in 2000 but also Richard Nixon in 1968 and John F. Kennedy in 1960.

I hate this issue because before the end of the election people on the DNC side were telling Trump the elections are not rigged, theres no fraud and the electoral vote is democratic and cannot be argued against. In other words they told him "If you lose get over it, thats the system!".

And yet now they suddenly believe in the opposite of what they said. They think there was fraud, they think there was fake stuff to mess up Hillary, they think the electoral system isn't fair. It seems to them the system is "democratic" and "working" as long as they win.

I say if they want to get rid of the electoral then do so. But it won't apply until next election. This way Trump still gets to go into office. Though I find nothing wrong with the electoral system no matter who wins. Its made how it is for a reason. Even when republicans had the "popular vote" I didn't complain.

America is not a democracy, it's a constitutional republic with unique voting system which works very well. The people who disagree with it can try to change it via constitutional amendment. Good luck with that as the Republicans control most of the states.

It was just a case of one winning the popular vote and the other winning the electoral college (and by a LOT), so I see no need for a revote -- not going to happen.

There was fake reporting on both sides. I do agree the media tended to campaign for Hillary, but that's because the media is on the left.

There was plenty of fake news against Trump too. He doesn't appear to be sticking to many of his campaign promises, which is completely unsurprising, yet considering the alternative, I have no voter's remorse whatsoever.

That's just politics. All politicians promise a chicken in every pot and then don't deliver.

Apparently proof has been found that Putin did have a hand in getting Donald elected. Presently our government is discussing what should be done. Note: they are not stating why Putin took that action. Not that it matters.

We have approximately 9 elector voters who may not choose to vote the way of the public vote. Right now they are asking for information as to whether there is any truth to the Russian influence before deciding.
It was on the news that they did find proof, but they are not stating what the proof was. Presently our government is discussing what should be done about it.

the alleged "proof" is in regards to the Russian hacking of the DNC servers. There is no proof of any tapering of the actual election.

As you may recall, the information from the DNC servers had to do with the collusion of the DNC leadership and the Clinton campaign to defeat Bernie Sanders in the primary.

This type of stuff goes on all the time. Our own government does this to other countries.

If many voters have the same exposure to news stories as I have had, be it from major media or smaller sources. The actual details and substance of the numerous accusations I would rate more to the lacking in information side. People just jump on their own bias bandwagon including the media.

Here's a blog that I've run across that has more substance than most, yet it still requires some "trust" to take it at its' word.

Russian DNC Hack Crock - John D's Tech Site

Edit: Also when it comes to the popular vote versus the electoral college, that's another issue of debate. It's not as clear as people are asked to believe that somehow a popular vote must automatically be the most just and fair vote.
