When I took a lit class in college, one of the books we read was Dad. The instructor encouraged us to read it through at least once on our own before we got to it in the class. I was the only person in the class who did, and I tell you, a second reading makes a big difference in noticing everything the writer did to construct the story. With a second reading, you really see fore-shadowing and symbolism effects.
Star tide rising,How many of you read books over and over again. I have read a number of books enough times to make my sister agitated at the fact that I'm reading it again.
Not really- I'd read the uplift series usually once a month during one year...I've read the book From E to You 7 times in the past year. I'm probably crazy.
But I do like to read James Herriot again. Love the stories about the Yorkshires and his life as a vet. So, that's one example of something I would re-read.
