To my family and friends who have cats:
Do you guys have any insight as to how I can get my cat not to pee inside the apartment? She does pee in her litter box but still does it in random places in the house too. I do not know how to get her to just use the litter box. I appreciate any insight.
Thanks,
Jesse

Don't know the specifics on your cat, but these are some things I have learned:

- Be sure to keep the litter box 'clean' (scooped clean daily, litter changed regularly) ...
some cats don't like using a 'dirty' litter box.

- I had one senior cat that would occasionally not use the litter box.
She was a sensitive cat (timid, a bit nervous and insecure).
She had a hard time adjusting to 'change', like when I moved us from one home to another.
During times of change or events stressful to her sensitive nature, she was more likely to make that occasional 'mistake'.

Also, she was aging and developing health issues.

Hope the problem resolves for you both soon.

I realized the problem! She has barely any litter inside the box! No wonder why she has been peeing in the house! Poor baby! I feel so bad. I need to keep a better eye on the level of litter in her box.....

That's great that you realized the problem ...
It can really be hard to 'figure out' a cat at times, but seems like you have!

I feel bad when I mess up in some way with one of ours, too ... (We've got 3!) ...
but fortunately, they seem to 'forgive and forget' pretty quickly!

Yep keep ALOT of litter in the box and clean it daily (close to half full). I use a mixture of clay and clump free (2/3 clump free-1/3 clay). Hand Scooper and store grocery bags make it a easy process to clean their box. Also put the bags of "awfuls" in the outside trash immediately so as not to smell up your house.

Enjoy your cat ..... they are a Hoot.
