  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

"I believe that the government is doing all it can to help the people of RCIA. We have begun air-dropping Krispy Kreme donuts into those affected areas and we set up a joint task force to begin building make-shift donut units behind the lines to reach those people.

Its important to satisfy their physical needs as well as their spiritual needs and this country is committed to that effort."

...Sorry I am in a silly mood today!

We've had a lot of people come through our RCIA classes, and get really choked up when we give them a Bible. :D

Hehe... I was astonished. I was like, ok, I get ALL of these, for free?
I was honored to receive all that free material, esp the Catechism. Incredible...

Yeah, I'm gonna learn some new stuff, I suppose. Different phrases conjure up different reactions, lol. It's like...

*Assumption... "Hmmm..."

*Confession... "AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

*Real Presence... "Huh?"

Things like that... I guess I just need to be able to talk to someone in real-time and discuss things. I had a wonderful time talking to that sweet lady the other day. We discussed a few basics, and a few particulars, like family, contraception, overpopulation myth, etc. It was interes... errrr, "Fascinating." (inside joke!!! *honk* if you get it!!! :D lol)

I'm so glad I can do this. While I was living at home, I just could not do it, because my mom is disgusted by all things Catholic. :( And God preserve me if I should ever convert. That would cause a lot of pain within my family. Not to mention that I'm scared myself. I don't know exactly what's going on with my spirituality right now, and it makes me really nervous. I'm just trying to live for the Lord the best I can right now. I know I ask it too much, but would you pray for me? I need all the support I can get.

Yeeeaaaahhhhh!!! One can't have too many mommies. That's something I really love about the Catholic Church. Everybody is your mommy! Errr, well, maybe just the women that are older than me.(VOW, you're pushing, what... 26, 27 now?) I would really like that, to have everybody at a church love me like that, instead of treating me like another "caddie" at the "country club". I need people to love me, and hug me, and take care of me, and all that good stuff, esp now when I'm so tender in my faith.(did I mention I'm scared? goodness, I think I repeat the same statements too much... no wonder I like the Rosary!!!) Anyways, I know I've talked y'all's ears off. Thanks for listening to me, even though I say things too many times.

Awww! *melts into quivering goo*

See, there just isn't family like that in other churches. Well, maybe a few country "revival camp meetin'" churches, but not the ones I've been to. And I'm a special guy(meaning I'm prone to heartbreak, and just generally emotional and melodramatic :D ), so I need lotsa love. But then, I can give lotsa love too. You just have to let me. I'm somewhat shy, but I like to love people once I get to know them. Actually, this is all relatively new to me. I've never ever been given opportunities to love people. Sounds weird, doesn't it? I guess I'm explaining it the right way. I've just never had a big ole church family to love. :sigh: And I could love them! Alright, now that I've reminded myself of my repetitive nature :o , I'll stop, hehe.

Hmmm, I just ate some supper... but I never reject a home-cooked meal! I've been trained on phrases like... "honey, why don't you finish up this casserole so I can clean the dish?", and, "darlin, here, why don't you pick you a cake and eat it up for me, I got 6 of 'em" ... :yum: :D

Ok people, I just miraculously stumbled across a Thomas Merton quote in my(protestant) internet devotional, and it perfectly fits my situation:

"My Lord, God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. and I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone." - Thomas Merton

And I found this quote immediately after searching for him on the internet:

"Each one of us has some kind of vocation. We are all called by God to share in His life and in His Kingdom. Each one of us is called to a special place in the Kingdom. If we find that place we will be happy. If we do not find it, we can never be completely happy. For each one of us, there is only one thing necessary: to fulfill our own destiny, according to God's will, to be what God wants us to be." - Thomas Merton

Ok... *sigh*... this stuff is really pulling my heart strings. This is exactly what I needed right now. Who says God doesn't answer prayer?

God Bless you, Joe, and know that you are in my prayers! :) It wasn't but a year and half ago... wait... two years almost to the day now that I think about it, that I began my own inquiry into the Catholic Faith through the RCIA program. The confusion and curiousity, the happiness and the anxiety are all fresh in my heart. Goodness you are in for some very special times! Start a diary, if you haven't already. You will appreciate it later. God bless you, Joe, my brother!

Tonight starts a Novena for Joe! Every Wednesday, in addition to regularly praying, why don't we all pray a Novena for Joe? Anyone have any ideas? VOW, nyj?

God Bless,

Neal

Oh? What's a novena? That sounds neato. And Neal, I hope I can find out where I belong. Now I know I keep saying this, but if I did happen to convert, I don't know how it would go. My mom... errr, it hurts too much. I can't talk about that anymore. :(

But anyways, thank you for praying for me. I'll pray for you guys too. I'll tell Mommy about y'all during a decade, k? She loves praying for me too! so amazing, *sigh*...
