What do you guys think of Ray Comfort's "Way of the Master", specifically regarding his methods on how he communicates with people regarding the Gospel?

I didn't go to the link but I have seen his method before. I don't think much of it. It is a salesman's pressure tactic.

I've seen his videos. He seems to have a cookie cutter approach where he uses the same line/formula on every person. I do respect him for his passion and zeal for evangelism and for putting himself out there. I'm a Calvinist, which means I don't believe his doctrines/message is always consistent.

Nobody who can come up with that deserves to be taken seriously. I watch it whenever I want to fall off my stool laughing.

I don't like his tactics. Seems like he could be selling vacuums or something with them instead of sharing the gospel.

If you want to evangelize talk to people about Christ. They will throw up every wall in order to not deal with His claims and His work but you must never let them. Always keep Christ as the focus. Our business is to get them to do business with Christ. Don't try to get them to make a profession of faith or say a prayer but try to get them to think on Christ and leave the rest to the Spirit. Tell them about Christ, what He has done and who He did it for. And most of all don't be discouraged because folks will not listen.

I totally agree. I definitely know that people won't listen, but something in me lately has really been chomping at the bit to just proclaim Christ.

When the Lord opens the door of opportunity go through it. But don't run until you are sent. When He gives you opportunity you will know it.

Comfort and Todd Friel do have a good strategy if you don't play it totally by the book. It gets a conversation going, but does not always make conversions...but we avoid conversation so much, they teach us how not to!
