i love watching Rays videos on youtube and I've noticed his message is different than what i have grown up to understand. He says that you must repent and trust alone in Jesus Christ.

Also if I understand him right one must actively try not sinning for the rest of ones life to get into heaven.

I just thought one had to believe in Jesus as the son of God to get into heaven...

Yeah, i think many people do too. I think that's why Ray encourages and challenges people to read the Bible for themselves to find out who God says He is and who we are. I think he also had an analogy of a parachute on a plane. just believing that a perfect, never failing parachute can save you from a jump from 30000 feet is not enough if you never put it on. You can believe that the parachute can save you and still jump out of the plane without it.

Also, i think many people have said that even the demons believe Jesus is the Son of God. In fact, they know. yet they are not right with God.

I encourage you to read the Word for yourself Luke. It does the soul good! Blessings to you in Christ Jesus.

Good post. I would also HIGHLY, HIGHLY, reccommend getting your hands on a copy of Hells Best Kept Secret/True and False Conversion from the Living Waters website. Buy 10 and hand them out to your friends. It goes through all the supporting scripture for the questions you're asking and will explain that through repentance and faith in Jesus for His sacrifice you will be "born again" a new person, that is, you will have new thoughts and desires which will compel you to seek total obedience to Christ's commands. Remember, one must esteem the sacrifice in order to have a contrite heart leading to true repentance and faith.

God Bless.

I am always cautious at pinning anything other than the blood of Jesus with the requirement for salvation and eternal destiny. Either the blood of Jesus was 100% effective in the salvation process or it was not. If it was not then we are all doomed for Hell.

Hi all,

I'm new here but have been lurking for a while.
I like Ray's message about using the law in evangelism, and I do.
However to tell someone that they need to repent of their sins to be saved is off the mark.
In the church age only believers are told to repent of their sins (after salvation)
When addressing unbelievers the context of repent seems to be simply to turn to God.
I think Ray is mixing the Gospel of the kingdom (Jesus) with the Gospel of the grace of God (Paul)
I spent the better part of 5 years wondering if I repented enough to saved. It wasn't until I did a word study on repent that I got it straight in my mind.

Just my 2 cents, hope it helps

Ken
