Does anyone have pet rats?

I know people think rats are gross, but I think they're better pets than dogs! And they're so silly. They do something every day that makes me laugh. The other day I put some gooey medicine on the end of my finger to feed to my rats. The biggest one, Rizzo, liked the medicine so much that he grabbed my finger and walked away . . . with my finger still in his mouth!

I used to have two very sweet dumbo rex rats. They are amazing creatures.

I used to have a 7 month old champaigne berkshire (thats beige with ruby colored eyes, white stomach) and she had a little of 9 little ratty babies. But I had to give them up due to certain circumstances about 6 months ago

We have three. One albino and two fancy rats (white and black). They are a few years old and my baby, Star, is getting tumors.

I love rats!!! They are so sweet and very much like a dog!!

By the way, for anyone who doesn't nkow much about rats: they are extremely intelligent, they are loving, they don't smell like mice or even gerbils (assuming you dont leave their cage uncleaned for a month, anything will smell after that long, lol) and they are *cleaner* than *cats*

I have two rats, Daisy and Jasmine, that are 6 months old. My roommate Sophmore year of college convinced me to get a rat. I thought she was nuts and reluctantly agreed because we couldn't have any other pets. But after getting Hector I fell in love with him. When he died last Thanksgiving I bawled and by spring I missed him so much I got two more rats.

They have that effect on humans all the time... the "you love me more than you ever thought you would, don't you!" effect... lol

Rats make awesome pets. Too many people let those long tails get in the way of owning a great pet. We have two rats in the house right now; one is Obi-Wan, my sister's, and Mayday, which is mine. They're both getting on in years, over two years old.
