High End games and 3D heavy games ? I'd bet not well due to the screen size (Bit small for a gaming computer)

Its not a bad laptop, but for serious gaming I would rather have a tower.

For the money, you definitely want a larger screen. It's an XPS, if you are going XPS then go all out!

I generally stay away from Dell altogether as the memory cache and processor could be alot better. There are upgrades though, for a bit more money. The screen could be bigger though, as already suggested.

there are some laptops purposefully built for gaming - why don't you look into some of them.

the XPS notebooks, aren't those the ones that only have 30 minutes of battery life. If it doesn't say in the list of specs, I assume that they don't want you to know that before you've already given them your money, then they don't care cuz they already got you.

It's ugly, the webcam is cool, but it has an old 4:3 display, and I think Vista would need more than 256 MB of VRAM, I hear it's extremely demanding in that area. For gaming, you should get more than 256 MB, no question.

Personally, i think Vista isn't ready for prime-time so I think you'd be wasting you money on anything that didn't have Windows XP or Mac OS X (the Macs are less demanding, and you can cut the specs in half and still get better performance out of the OS that Vista ever could).
