The Bible says there will be a Rapture, in which, according to 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, “...the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.” But the Bible also speaks of an intermediate step between now and that Rapture, which, according to Matthew 24:29-31, “...the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Of Matthew 24:30, at least one commentator says the Son of Man will come to destroy those who have rebelled against Christ, while at least one other commentator says the Son of Man will destroy Jerusalem, implying it has not lived up to what Jesus expects us to be. Of the latter, Jerusalem, as part of Israel, happens to be treasured by Jews and Christians alike.

Taking these two commentaries together, does that mean that those who remain in Jerusalem, either symbolically or figuratively, implying the righteous have left, will be those who have rebelled against Christ? Where does the Promised Land fit in the scheme of things, when the Bible makes it clear in Galatians 3:29 that if we are Christs, then we are heirs according to the Promise God makes to Abraham, of the land He promises to him. In any case, this seems to be the intermediate event the Bible speaks of in Matthew 24:30, between now and the Rapture. Compared to the Rapture, this would be the ‘rupture’ for want of a better term.

Is the corona virus a tool of the Son of Man for the rupture? But consider that those who have died include people who, as far as we know, were not rebels against Christ in any sense of the word. Those whom we my think of as being righteous have also died from it to. But as Romans 8:28 says that all things work together for good, for those according to God’s purpose, we can believe that they will be going to a better place, in the House of God. The coronavirus isn’t done with us yet, as it hasn’t peeked in many places.

The Rapture will sweep up into Heaven those who are left who presumably would have been blessed with the badge of righteousness, after those who have rebelled and who have otherwise have given in evil are no longer around.

When you say this virus is a tool of Jesus, you make it sound as if He created the virus and helped it spread. You have to understand that God doesn't plan evil, He allows bad things to happen so that He can work it all out in our favor.

Are you saying that the Lord will just ALLOW things like the sun to darken and the stars to fall from the sky? If true, then I guess we have a long wait...
