[seeking.IAM]I take offense when I see someone wearing a cross and acting in a way that I think is decidedly unChristian.
 What???? So please explain to me the things you see people wearing crosses do, that is "decidedly unChristian?"

This is absolutely pathetic, since when is wearing an item of jewellery a basis upon which to label someone unChristian or not?

Perhaps they wear it because it looks nice covered in all those beautiful diamonds hanging around their necks glistening and shining....

I mean does it really matter?

[koban4max]You should ask yourself: DO you think you pose yourself as Jesus Christ who died on cross and say..."What sup, homiez..you my dawg."
People take it as blashemphy.
 I see athletes, doctors, accountants, judges, trash collectors etc.... wearing crosses. I have even seen women posing half naked in magazines (not that I own them or purchase them :D ) with a huge cross around their necks. To single out rappers is kinda weak. The fact is, those doctors wearing crosses could be committing all kinds of sin, that you have no idea about. Are you therefore suggesting they too should stop wearing crosses? Perhaps no-one therefore qualifies to be able to wear a cross. The cross is not an idol to be worshipped. Being a Christian is not about outward appearances, it's a heart issue. Do you actually hear these rappers call themselves Christians? I doubt it very much. And as for blaspheme, perhaps you should look up the word and see it's correct meaning before wrongly associating it with the wearing of a chain.........

QUOTE]

Well, first the caveat, I said things that "...I think are decidely unChristian." I don't get to decide what is Christian or not, but sometimes I see actions that are incompatible with how I think a Chistian should try to live his life."

For example, I find it offensive to the faith if someone with a Christian bumper sticker, cuts me off in traffic, curses at me, and flips me the bird out the window. If Christians are supposed to be the body of Christ, I don't think that is acting very Christ-like.

I would find it offensive to the faith if one is wearing a cross and she stands in the grocery story yelling, cursing, and demeaning a teenage check out girl who made a simple mistake.

That's the kind of thing I was talking about.
