All too common, I am afraid to say. We left our previous church after the minister criticised what he called Calvinism and rather like this guy was ignorant on many of the facts. Is it any wonder your average believer is pelagian (though they invariably believe themselves to be Arminian) and start saying how they hate Calvinism (and end up speaking of hyper-Calvinism).

Sorry, man. I just don't have it in me anymore. I can't go around the Internet picking a fight with everyone who badmouths Calvinism. There aren't enough hours in the day, and it doesn't do any good. It's time better spent elsewhere.
