  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

That will probably be a card I will receive someday... My brother is convinced I'm going to be a crazy cat /and or crazy plant lady. I wonder if they have cards for people and their plants...

Somewhere, out there, there will be a whole host of cards for crazy plant ladies. Perhaps a little like this

only with more words.

I'm a huge book worm and I told myself for a very long time that I would never use a kindle. Ever, ever, ever. I loved holding books and how you knew how far along you were (and if it was a huge book, it was an accomplishment to make a dent in the number of pages), the smell, all of it. But I got a Kindle for Christmas last year and I LOVE IT :D

Most of the problem with books is when I moved out of my mom's place last year, I had over thirty books that I couldn't take with me. They still sit in a box at her house, most of them Stephen King. I think the Kindle can hold 3,500 books and you can take them with you anywhere you go. The battery lasts about a month unless you use the WiFi.

I will fight the good fight. I will stand in your place. I will not mind the extra baggage charges or the packing of you don't want to know how many boxes each time I move.

I have a Kindle.
It's called the library.

I have had the dubious pleasure of handling a Kindle, and I hate it. There's no history, no names scribbled in the pages, no underlines, no notes, no little page creases, no cracks along the spine from decades of abuse, no greasy fingerprints smudging the words of favourite lines, no crisp pages waiting for you to fondle, oh ... it's like the difference between an e-mail and a handwritten note, both saying the same thing, both with the same meaning, but one being that little bit more beautiful.

That and if I brandished a Kindle around here i'd be the victim of a mugging quicker than you can say money flasher.

LOL well I also love reading books as well. My goal in the next few months is to finish the Left Behind series (on book two now) and won't order them on Kindle :) I want all of them in book form.

So wouldn't there be no Giraffes right now if they needed to grow long necks to eat the trees??? Like, they would be extinct if there was no foliage near the ground and had to evolve long necks. Bad illustration :D
