So many people think popping balloons is so much fun, but do they consider how the balloons feel about it?

Of course not. It's all prejudice against balloons.

You know, if trees screamed every time they were cut down, I think we would have a lot less wood available....

I have. But that does not work because they are able to put the animals to sleep. They can not do that to trees!

How do you know that? I'm sure they'd look for tree tranquilisers if they had to.

*laugh* To be able to put them to sleep, they would have to be able to sleep! Trees do not sleep or go unconscious. At least, not to my knowledge.

But if they were able to scream, then they would be sentient, and then they would require sleep like other sentient lifeforms would they not?

No, not really. It would be like a defense mechanism, like a Venus flytrap. When a bug gets too close (a person gets too near a tree and looks menacing) it snaps down automatically. (starts screaming) It would not require... sleep!

Heeeeyyy, now there's an idea.... The tree snapping the lumberjack would be more effective than just screaming!!

I don't know about that. Who is ever gonna believe when a treeicide occurs??
