my aunt used to live on Kodiak Island...taught 5th grade there for like 17 years

Yeah she is cool. I hate all the stereotypes about Alaska. Yes, it does get 50 below in the interior in the winter, but on the coast even in winter it is no worse than a lot of places in the lower 48. And the summers are nice and mild... 60s and 70s mostly
