I've got lyrics to a song I just found. If any know Sing for the Moment by Eminem, it's a remix with Joe Budden. I think someone random person mixed it because it takes the verse from a freestyle Joe did and two other verses that i can't find the songs of (not to mention the song never came out). In anycase, I found it really powerful so I decided to post it. It's long, but oh well. Since I couldn't find the lyrics to Joe's verses I had to write them myself, so some parts are missing.
[Verse 1 – Eminem]
These ideas are nightmares to white parents
Whose worst fear is a child with dyed hair and who likes earrings
Like whatever they say has no bearing, it's so scary in a house that allows no swearing
To see him walking around with his headphones blaring
Alone in his own zone, cold and he don't care
He's a problem child
And what bothers him all comes out, when he talks about
His f---ing dad walkin' out
Cause he just hates him so bad that he blocks him out
If he ever saw him again he'd probably knock him out
His thoughts are whacked, he's mad so he's talkin' back
Talkin' black, brainwashed from rock and rap
He sags his pants, do-rags and a stocking cap
His step-father hit him, so he socked him back, and broke his nose
His house is a broken home, there's no control, he just let's his emotions
go...
[Main – Aerosmith]
{C'mon}, sing with me, {sing}, sing for the years
{Sing it}, sing for the laughter, sing for the tears, {c'mon)
Sing it with me, just for today, maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away...
[Verse 2 – Joe Budden]
Now first things first: mother------ I don’t know you
And let’s put it in the air it’s clear that I don’t owe you
Nobody wants to start up from scratch what they own ???
They’d rather blow you, bring you to places you don’t go to
The bad guy ‘cause I refuse to remain local
Or beef with the people I say no to
‘Cause I’m the focal
I don’t deal with you dudes
That seem to think I got my deal out the blue
Four years ago, s---, I was feeling like you
With five bucks to my name
Rips and tears in my shoes
Borrowing outfits, no food, starving, that’s (mouth?) s---
But now the mouth’s on
[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] act like the kitchen oven didn’t used to keep the whole house warm
I was without ???
I ??? my flaws
Beggin’ to deal ???
Hit like, “Please, just accept my shorts”
Nuttin’ in mind except for my draws
They peg me a loss
Misguided, ??? hopeless, they misquote it, mother------…
[Main – Aerosmith]
{C'mon}, sing with me, {sing}, sing for the years
{Sing it}, sing for the laughter, sing for the tears, {c'mon)
Sing it with me, just for today, maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away...
[Verse 3 – Eminem]
Entertainment is changin', intertwinin' with gangstas
In the land of the killers, a sinner's mind is a sanctum
Holy or unholy, only have one homie
Only this gun, lonely cause don't anyone know me
Yet everybody just feels like they can relate
I guess words are a motherf-----: they can be great
Or they can degrade, or even worse they can teach hate
It's like these kids hang on every single statement we make
Like they worship us, plus all the stores ship us platinum
Now how the f--- did this metamorphosis happen?
From standin' on corners and porches just rappin'
To havin' a fortune, no more kissin' a--
But then these critics crucify you, journalists try to burn you
Fans turn on you, attorneys all want a turn at you
To get they hands on every dime you have
They want you to lose your mind every time you mad
So they can try to make you out to look like a loose cannon
Any dispute won't hesitate to produce handguns
That's why these prosecutors wanna convict me
Strictly just to get me off of these streets quickly
But all they kids be listenin' to me religiously
So I’m signin' CDs while police fingerprint me
They're for the judge's daughter but his grudge is against me
If I’m such a f---ing menace, this s--- doesn't make sense Pete
It's all political
If my music is literal, and I’m a criminal how the f--- can I raise a little girl?
I couldn't, I wouldn't be fit to
You're full of s--- too, Guerrera, that was a fist that hit you...
[Main – Aerosmith]
{C'mon}, sing with me, {sing}, sing for the years
{Sing it}, sing for the laughter, sing for the tears, {c'mon)
Sing it with me, just for today, maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away...
[Verse 4 – Joe Budden]
The white folks see my truck, start reacting, liking
Get surprised when there’s a black kid driving
Thumbs up, now they start yakking vibrant
Asking me how’s the traction, they was interested and buying
Hood see me in it, say I don’t deserve it
I’m not worth it, shouldn’t have it, they should jack it
Think I’m (flossing?) with the window down, staring at folks
You mother------s, Joey’s sharing the (hope?)
And why ??? they eyeing me for? Like I stole Ayden before
[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], I can buy this store
And why when I’m walking in the bank
Trying to get my good house and my mortgage
And they think that I’m forgulant (sp?)
Think I can’t afford it when the pores of my skin are dark
And I’m a young buck, they think that I got young bucks
Dumbf---s
So ignorant, think I only can to run (muck?)
Make me want to resort to my ways somewhat
They say you soft when you move out the hood
And so my goal is to make all of my loved ones part
My pop, my mother, my son, his mother, my girl, my brother
My entire squad will be ??? from far
Haters want to shoot me and graze me (blocker?)
‘Cause I’m from the hood but my momma raised me proper
And if you hate Joey then you hating the best
You hate yourself, your hate ???
Thinking of again ??? in the hallway cyphers
And I thank God, He knows it wasn’t always like this
Naw, it gets better the more He guides us
You can tell ‘cause the haters didn’t always dislike us…
[Main – Aerosmith]
{C'mon}, sing with me, {sing}, sing for the years
{Sing it}, sing for the laughter, sing for the tears, {c'mon)
Sing it with me, just for today, maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away...
[Verse 5 – Joe Budden]
Look, Joey offering substance
??? altering substance that no longer alters my substance
I’m thankful for every single fan that I get
And just think: years ago, s---, I was planning to quit
But naw, I’ll keep trooping if ??? that type Joey keep doing it
Y’all that thought we wouldn’t see shine in Jerse’ (New Jersey)
For the kids who idolize me just ‘cause I can rhyme words
For y’all struggling, I know it’s hard getting by
(For dude that said calm down, helped him stop getting high?)
For the gangstas, hustlers, mobsters that move weight
For dudes that followed Joe off from the first (Clue?) tape
For all the credit that I’m not used to
For the people saying I’m the future
Thank you
Y’all help a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] make it through the fake s---
Even do it for the haters, you too can make it
For my [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] on the corner, giving me pounds and s---
For all the teachers said Joey wouldn’t amount to s---
For mommy at my video shoot, she crying (and all?)
For little man with the marker saying, “Sign my ball”
For all of my true fans, all the people that support me
The people that adore me when they could’ve ignored me
Thinking of Lincoln High and the hallway cyphers
And I thank God, he know it wasn’t always like this
Mother------…
[Main – Aerosmith]
{C'mon}, sing with me, {sing}, sing for the years
{Sing it}, sing for the laughter, sing for the tears, {c'mon)
Sing it with me, just for today, maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away...
[Verse 6 – Eminem]
They say music can alter moods and talk to you
Well can it load a gun up for you and [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] it too?
Well if it can, then the next time you assault a dude
Just tell the judge it was my fault and I’ll get sued
See what these kids do is hear about us totin' pistols
And they want to get one cause they think the s---'s cool
Not knowin' we really just protectin' ourselves
We entertainers, of course the s---'s affectin' our sales
You ignoramus
But music is reflection of self
We just explain it, and then we get our checks in the mail
It's f---ed up ain't it?
How we can come from practically nothing
To being able to have any f---ing' thing that we wanted
That's why we sing for these kids, who don't have a thing
Except for a dream, and a f---ing rap magazine
Who post pin-up pictures on their walls all day long
Idolize they favorite rappers and know all they songs
Or for anyone who's ever been through s--- in their lives
Till they sit and they cry at night wishin' they'd die
Till they throw on a rap record and they sit, and they vibe
We're nothin' to you but we're the f---ing s--- in they eyes
That's why we seize the moment try to freeze it and own it, squeeze it and hold it
Cause we consider these minutes golden
And maybe they'll admit it when we're gone
Just let our spirits live on, through our lyrics that you hear in our songs and we can...
[Main – Aerosmith] 2x
