Today was a good day.
I ran into one of my students at the nursing home that I do clinicals in with my current class. She got a job there. I'm very happy for her. This kinda' makes me feel like a proud parent, even though this is an adult class I teach.
How are you? How's that cutie? How's the momma?

That's cool that you saw one of your students.

I got to see that little boy tonight. He is so precious. Of course I had to pepper his cheeks with Granny kisses. I brought him back a bib from Louisville, he still has to grow into it. Momma is doing well too. She's losing her baby fat too. I told her I had to wear maternity clothes after her and her sister were born for a while.

Yeah, it's that "I refuse to wear fat clothes so I'll wear my maternity cloths" thing. I was pretty good after the first 2. I'd still be in maternity clothes except my baby is 15

I cried after I came home from having Meghan because I couldn't fit into my regular jeans. Which before I got pregnant with her were a size...*gulp* 3!! Hahahahaaaa...haven't seen that number ever again.

the smallest I ever was was a size 5. I'd be happy at a 12 at this point in my life. which isn't too far away but still a serious diet away.

I'm in 10's on a good day. Fat days...12 or 14's. I could use a serious diet. I eat salads but the dressing sure isn't "lite".

I'm doing the low carb thing. I can't have my surgery until I drop 20 pounds. I could lose more, and probably should ... I started Friday and lost 3 pounds of which 1/2 a pound is fat. It's a respectable start ...

3 pounds since Friday, that's excellent. Dieting for me is so hard, seems even harder the older I get. Even though my Mom doesn't agree...I'm comfortable just the way I am.

That's the thing, I was comfortable at a 12. I would like to get back to that. Is your mom trying to fatten you up or skinny you down?

No matter what weight I am, it's not right with her. She said I had a "roll" If I'm very thin she says I'm too skinny and I look sick. If I'm a little heavier, she says I'm fat. If my hair is longer, it doesn't look good...too short and I look like a man. Oy!! I told her once that she'd never be satisfied with me and that I love myself just the way I am. She said...Oh me too honey. [sarcasm] Yeah right! [/sarcasm]

Dawn I think mom's see themselves in us and project how they feel about themselves onto us.

After all these years, it doesn't bother me anymore. I respect her too much to say much back to her. I love her, even if...

Sounds like my mom did. My hair didn't look right unless I did it the way she thought I should. She always said whatever she felt like to me. I went overboard the other way with MY daughter - encouraging her to be her own person, BUT GUESS WHAT??? My daughter has become my MOTHER!!! HELP. She says whatever she thinks to me. Hopefully, one of my grands will be like me and I'll be able to relate to her.

I can't get this quote out of my post - but that's ok!! Life is scary sometimes, isn't it??

I've got to get to bed. I have to work tomorrow and I get up at 3:30, so I read in bed to just relax... .
