Mine is held together with duck tape, and my favorites are all stained!! Very well used!! People think I am joking when I say I fix stuff with Duck tape!! If they only knew! You should see my weed eater!!

There is only 3 things you actually need in a tool box:

1. Duct tape to cinch up what is moving and shouldn't.
2. WD-40 to start moving what doesn't.
3. Screwdriver with flat and phillips head...(you can also use the handle as a hammer).

Re: cookbooks and tapes. I use what's left of the Fanny Farmer's that I picked up on my first honeymoon over 20 years ago. It's now in three larger pieces with about 20 detached pages in between. It's well beyond taping These day's it's mostly for reference when I forget a familiar formula (like pie crust dough) or need to check a recommended cooking time. But it's part of what makes my apartment a home.
