  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Most of our smog comes from the States (no offense meant). I think you'll like Toronto if you come. Montreal is really cool too, from what I've heard; I've only driven through it. Stayed in Quebec City and totally loved it.

Oooh I see. Does Montréal have as much smog as Toronto, or are you unsure? That is where I am trying to go, but I am applying to a couple colleges in Toronto as well. I've never been to either city. I would like to keep my French going though. I am half Acadian and don't want to lose it as I don't have much opportunity to use it where I live. Montréal has a bigger Chassidic community as well, which has also influenced my decision. I've been to Québec City as well. I loved. Old Québec is beautiful!

I am bilingual, but haven't used my French in several years. My classes at school were French but my first language is English. Yes, New Brunswick is the only true bilingual province I think. It is wonderful. I think ALL provinces should follow their example!
