  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Guys, if you're gonna speak German, go to the "German speaker's" thread(that's not what it's called). I don't know where it is, but my brother found it. Links234 might know where it is.

Lol I love Rammstein and, as with every foreign language music group that I get into, I did actually looked up what the song lyrics meant. The sound is just awesome, although the music does sound angry a lot. Spieluhr had a very creepy sound to it but when I looked up the translation I saw why :D lol. I would totally get all of Rammsteins albums if I could FIND THEM!!! Nobody in my small town has them which really surprised me because so many of my friends love them.

Amazon.com has them, as does iTunes. This is assuming you mean the domestic American releases (Herzeleid, Sehnsucht, Live aus Berlin, Mutter, and Reise, Reise), not exclusive CD singles and whatnot that were only released in Europe and Australia.

Eh, I don't really find much of a problem with their lyrics, save for stuff like Weißes Fleisch, which was mainly on their first CD anyway. Personally, I think the lyrics to Klavier are creepier than Spieluhr.

I personally much prefer to buy CDs direct from a shop. but that's just me being impatient, and I refuse to pay to download (I do not do it illegally either though)

One of my favorite songs is (I don't know how to spell it but it sounds something like this) Mien Hertz Brent, some one correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know if that's how you spell it, but whatever it's called, it's an awesome song.

Actually... you spelled it very close... it's 'Mein', not 'mien'... that's what I like about german... if you can pronounce it... it's VERY easy to spell... 'cept the 'ie' thing being backwards.

Eherm... however... rammstein is... umm... special. Basically, if you can't listen to Slipknot, and some of the harder american bands... don't translate anything rammstein does. Be happy with the beat, because some rammstein songs are a bit... well, they use german humor... 'nuff said

However, the good thing is there are no 'cuss' words in german. There are definitely words that translate into vulgar american words... but in germany, they aren't profain at all, therefore aren't correctly translated into profain words.

One good song of theirs: Du Hast. Don't trust their english version... the translation of the german song is much better.

Basically: "du, du hast, du hast mich... du hasst mich gefragt, du hasst mich gefragt, du hasst mich gefragt, und ich hab' nichts gesagt" means

you, you hate, you hate me...you asked me something, yet I said nothing.

The guy in the background is saying german wedding vows.... this song is about a guy who's about to get married, they asked him to say "I do" and he was just like "uhhh....." and his bride got mad at him.

Nothing wrong with that song... yet everyone thinks about hatred... it's just a play on words because "Hassen (hast)" does mean hate... but the "du hasst mich gefragt" is a form of "Haben"... literally it means "you have me asked"... just german word order for "you asked me" ... they just have the "you hate" part because germans like playing with words... and the change from "du hast mich" and "du hasst mich gefragt" is significant.

Ja, aber ich gehasst Reise, Reise.

Wo kommst du? Thuringen?

...ich wohnte ein monat im mecklinburg vorpommen... ... does that mean I'm cool to? ... woot... but I can't spell that one anymore.... I mean comon!

Why? They're not Nazis, despite what many believe.

hhhhhuuuuH? I've never heard anything affiliating them with the nazi party? I'm not fluent, but I've also never heard them say anything nazi-esque... why for you say them nazi? If they were, they could never go to germany... When I was there, the first thing I was told is "don't mention anything about nazis.... you will get beaten severly".... just about every teen I visited had an anti-nazi scarf or two around... I can't imagine they'd do well over there if they were nazi.

I personally much prefer to buy CDs direct from a shop. but that's just me being impatient, and I refuse to pay to download (I do not do it illegally either though)

ever translate buch Dich or bistrafe mich? .... don't.
