if you studied up on both Hebrew and Hebrew culture, you'd know he is right about the circle vs the sphere.
Right. The Bible says it's a 2-dimensional circle with edges. That pretty much precludes a sphere. But the bible never says that the earth isn't a sphere.

The flatness of the earth is both described and implied many times throughout the Bible. See:Again, it appears that you don't believe the bible, which I already knew. Verses please.

Many references to the earth being flat and having edges. Nothing referring to a sphere.
As I've just shown, the Bible DOES say that the earth is a circle with edges. It also says that the earth does not move because it sits on pillars and that there is a crystaline dome above it, like a tent, that keeps the rain off our heads.I think you need to first believe what the bible does say rather than what it doesn't say if you call yourself a Christian. Only when you do that, will your statements be consistent.
it never says it's not a cube either--so what is the point of saying what the Bible DOESN'T say? As I said, you should study up on Hebrew and ancient Hebrew cultureBut the bible never says that the earth isn't a sphere.
agreedIt shouldn't be necessary for those who know what he's talking about.
or maybe they should look up evolutionBut those who don't know what God is talking about are totally and completely confused. So they have to look up simple words like "is."![]()

The bible doesn't say the earth isn't 4.54 billion years old either, it doesn't say we didn't evolve either, so what is you problem? But the bible never says that the earth isn't a sphere. Sorry it doesn't answer the question. A spherical earth goes beyond what is written in the bible yet you don't have a problem with it.
Actually, as I showed you, when one considers all the evidence from the Bible, the earth cannot be considered a sphere at all. Job tells us that the earth looks like a piece of clay stamped flat. Matthew tells us that the entirety of the earth can be seen from the top of a high mountain -- something that is impossible if the earth were a sphere. Daniel says the same thing, only looking from the top of a very tall tree. Moreover, we read in 1 Samuel, 1 Chronicles, Job, and the Psalms that the earth cannot be moved because it sits on a foundation of pillars. None of these references to the earth can be taken to mean that our planet is a sphere. And yet you appear to believe otherwise with not a shred of evidence at all. Thus, when you put the whole bible together, then God is obviously talking about a sphere since 3 dimensional objects exist on the earth.

Could it be that maybe the shoe is on the other foot? Maybe it is you who is going beyond what is written? Maybe it is you who, according to your very own standards, is arrogant and doesn't listen to God?
So quoting a God you don't believe defeats your whole point. But since one has to contradict himself to deny God, then it makes sense that you would contradict yourself.![]()
And I would argue that you are doing the exact same thing with your simplistic reading of Genesis.Again, you are only looking at the surface of those words which is why you don't understand them.
I have quoted the verse to you. Twice. Once in this very thread. Please go back and read it again. You have to quote the verse in Job so I can make sure you haven't taken it out of context with the rest of the bible.
Let's see what Matthew 4:8 says:And Matthew does not say that. Satan was simply showing Jesus that everything can be his if he just denied God...that includes what Satan showed him. So you have misunderstood that verse as well.
Ah, but the verses don't say the earth cannot be "changed". They say the earth cannot be "moved". According to your very own standards, what you are doing is paramount to "adding" to God's word. Taken together, the verses clearly state that the earth cannot be moved because it sits on a foundation of pillars. And when those pillars shake, it is God who holds them firm. The verses in Psalms, Chronicles, Job, 1 Samuel, etc. are talking about how God created the earth cannot be changed.
How about instead of condemning me all the time, you try to support your position with reference to Scripture? I take your constant fire and brimstone speeches as a small victory because it seems you can't actually address the points I've made.So quoting a God you don't believe defeats your whole point. It looks to me that what he is saying is that every nation on Earth can be seen from a tall mountain. Again, this can't be so if the earth is a sphere. So again, to believe that the earth is a sphere in light of this passage is, according to you, to reject God's word. I'm just implementing your own standards, here.
